Gallery 3 – Still Life

These works are explore abstract light patterns. The hard, cold surfaces of crystal and cut-class family heirlooms are juxtaposed with the vibrancy, warmth, and sensuousness of various fruits. While painting the fruit and glass, all of my senses become engaged—sight, smell, taste, and touch. This experience translates into the process of the painting. I not only express how the glass reflects the colors of the surrounding objects, but also show how sunlight refracts into its spectrum of colors as it passes through the glass.

Currently, I am exploring the interplay of fabric with the light, crystal, and fruit.
